Itu Mohanoe

Affectionately known to the masses as Coach Itu, Itu Mohanoe comes with details of experience in the world of Thought Leaders. He has over 10 years of teaching experience, of which 4 were spent leading a Community School to greater heights to achieve some of the best results in his District. Coach Itu is known for his specialisation in the teaching of English and Business Studies, together with the curriculum design of the non-examinable Social Justice Studies. This is also where he teaches issues of privilege, social cohesion, problem thinkers in society, leaderless movements, 21st Century movements etc.

Coach Itu is a Speech & Debate Coach, with tons of experience in both fields. He went on to Coach what arguably became Africa's Top Debating Academy/School by far, with those speakers winning tournaments on the African Continent, while in both school and university. These speakers also went on to win European titles as champions and/or best speakers. With over 60 Speaking & Debating titles that matter under his wing, Coach Itu goes on to develop some of South Africa's best young minds and leaders.

A Pan-African at heart, he is currently the Senior Vice-President of the Pan-African Schools' Debating Council, home to the Pan-African Schools' Debating Championships and the Jozi Summer Holidays Open. These are arguably Africa's largest schools' Debating/Speaking competitions by far, hosting even countries like the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan and India.

Coach Itu is also the Debating National Head Coach of Team Tanzania, appointed by Tanzania Competitive Rhetoric Organisation -the country's only and official Debating recognition body. He is responsible for preparing the Squad for the World Schools' Debating Championships, the World's largest Debating World Cup.

Coach Itu was also a 6-time Chief Adjudicator at Heart of Europe Debating Tournament, making him the second longest-serving Chief Judge of the prestigious tournament. He has worked, and done pieces of training, with Frankie Cena, Canada's premier Speech and Debate Coach.

He was called up to work with the South African Department of Basic Education's Media Team on hosting the National Senior Certificate Awards and Announcement Ceremony, Anchor The Big Interview on the Department's YouTube Channel and several other projects. He is also recognised by the City of Johannesburg's Office of the Speaker, the Johannesburg Student Council, The Constitution Hill, Brand South Africa, Dr Richard Maponya Institute, Gordon Institute of Business Science Spirit of Youth Program, Gauteng Department of Education, as he has done marvellous amounts of work with all of the organisations.

Coach Itu is currently the Executive Head Coach and Chief Executive of the Coach Itu Academy, an academy he founded in 2015. It employs a cohort of 10 Coaches, and it coaches over 1000 children spread across the province of Gauteng, in more than 25 schools.
