To the top of the world I've climbed and to the depths of despair, I've been there. Climbing to the top of the highest mountain in the world has taught me what true pain and suffering was. As a body of 8 years old, holding the hand of my terminally ill father has taught me what despair meant. But no matter how much there was to suffer, somehow, if I too a good look around, it was fascinating to see how much beauty still surrounded me. The mountains and valleys below once my spasm stricken body finally reached the summit, and the bright sun reflecting in my dying fathers eyes as he drifted away peacefully. As a doctor, I've always held that every patient, no matter how much they may be suffering in the moment, has the ability to heal - even if the window of opportunity is hardly open, it will still let in a cool breeze. Through various lectures, speaking opportunities, and treatments that I've provided over the last 20 years, the theme remains the same - to help bring out the best in others.
