Dr. Kieran A. Slevin is a renowned interventional spine specialist and visionary physician serving the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware regions. He is board-certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine, highlighting his extensive expertise and dedication to patient care. Dr. Slevin's academic journey began at University College Dublin in Ireland, where he completed his medical degree. Following this, he furthered his medical education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Here, he completed a residency in Anesthesiology and Critical Care, as well as a fellowship in Interventional Spine and Pain Medicine, between 2000 and 2006. From 2006 to 2011, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care. He was also the Assistant Director of Acute Pain Services across the University of Pennsylvania Health System and the Assistant Director of the Interventional Pain and Spine fellowship program. During his tenure as an Assistant Professor at Penn, he developed his leadership skills and was elected to the Penn Senate Faculty Executive Committee and the University Council. In these roles, he collaborated with senior University leadership. He advised the Provost and President on critical issues, including faculty IP ownership, campus sustainability initiatives, and navigating the University endowment during the 2008 financial crisis.
In 2014, Dr. Slevin founded North American Spine and Pain, which has since grown to employ over 120 staff members across three states. The team sees over 150,000 patients annually, providing specialized care for conditions such as degenerative and herniated discs, extremity pain, nerve injuries, osteoarthritis, sciatica, spinal stenosis, sports-related trauma, sprains, strains, and tendinitis. The practice is dedicated to setting the gold standard of care in Pennsylvania and surrounding areas, embodying his vision of excellence in patient care.
