Bio

Dr. MacIntyre "Dr. Dave" is a licensed therapist with over 26 years of experience in the field of mental health. He is a consultant, author, speaker, clinician, coach and trainer who is frequently sought after to discuss his journey from a small rural town to a sought after international speaker in mental health and recovery.

Dr. Dave speaks from his own addiction and recovery, his journey from fear to fearlessness and how shame and guilt cause many professionals to not seek help for a problem that impacts 1 in 10 professionals today.

Dr. Dave has worked with numerous organizations and individuals to support, motivate and foster change in order to live life to its fullest potential. He has brought his story of experience, strength and hope to organizations throughout the United States and internationally.

Dr. Dave has trained police and correctional officers, therapists, and community organizations in suicide prevention and mental health treatment in corrections. He has extensive experience in implementing and managing correctional mental health services in over 23 locations in Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan.

Having spent over 26 years in the public and private sectors of business, leadership and mental health, Dr. Dave can tailor a talk specifically for the need of your event.

Participants will learn the history of treatment programs for the impaired professional, consequences with licensing boards, who are impaired professionals, what it means to be an impaired professional, where do professionals fit in treatment and recovery and where do professionals in recovery fit into the workplace.

Dr. MacIntyre will share his story of experience, strength and hope to help organizations and professionals gain a greater understanding of the impaired professional.

Achieving Life Goals

Many people do not live to their full life potential. Often times, they remain stuck in their current situation and only dream to move forward. People become stuck in the same old pattern with friends, work, family and society influencing their life path.

In this presentation, Dr. MacIntyre will help participants to decide what they want, develop resiliency skills, develop a plan for success, understand the pitfalls that may interfere and how to stay motivated in times of stress and anxiety.

A Survival Guide to Coping With Suicide, Homicide, & Sudden Loss

In this presentation participants will gain insight for helping families and individuals through practical information and engaging activities, learn innovative approaches to promote post traumatic growth, resilience, and well-being in survivors, victims, those who mourn, and those who support them.

In this presentation professionals will discover ways to facilitate healing and strengthen community resilience to traumatic situations such as suicide, homicide and sudden death. The conference will also focus on self-care strategies to prevent compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma.
