Bio

At 18 years old, Doug was drafted 2nd overall into the NHL to play for the Los Angeles Kings as their youngest player ever. Over the next 11 years, he was defined by hockey successes, hockey failures, and his lack of awareness. Life changed instantly when a broken neck and spinal cord injury suddenly ended his career at age 29.

Today Doug is the author of three books on transition, trauma, and performance. As a professional athlete and spinal cord injury survivor, Doug has faced some of the most severe personal and business, transitions an individual can endure. For over two decades he will share what he has learned

Doug Smith’s entire life, personal and business, has been about ongoing large-scale change. Doug understands, because he has done it, how to build, and maintain mental performance through personal transformation. It is this experience and learning that Doug brings to his audience.

Doug is an expert on "change" and will help your people become experts on "change" as well.

At 18 years, 2 weeks old, Doug was drafted 2nd overall into
the NHL to play for the Los Angeles Kings as their youngest player ever.

Today Doug’s books and courses help people to recovery and perform better.
Doug understands because he has done it, how to build and maintain mental performance through transformation. It is this experience and learning that Doug brings to his clients.
