Don grew up in a drug house that was raided, was sexually assaulted by a babysitter before the age of ten, and once held a knife to his wrist, while he contemplated the unthinkable, before being interrupted.
That's when he decided, as he entered his teenage years, that he needed to make changes in his life. He told himself he wasn't a result of his circumstances and worked to be a more positive person that would make a positive impact on people.
When it comes to resilience and grit, Don has lived it. He's owned or co-owned two businesses in his life, was inducted into a hall of fame, and has changed lives by helping people realize their positive potential.
Don Wadewitz is the owner of Awesome U, a leadership development company based in West Allis and Madison, Wisconsin. He's facilitated classes on several different leadership topics for the private sector and government organizations.
He also leads a team of a dozen consultants and trainers for the second largest state agency in Wisconsin. He served as the senior leadership trainer for the same agency for five years.
Don is also a hall of fame sports broadcaster for several Wisconsin colleges and sports teams. He's broadcast sports games since 2003 and weaves stories from these experiences into his talks and trainings.
