LEADERSHIP AS IF THE FUTURE MATTERS

LEADERSHIP AS IF THE FUTURE MATTERS
We examine our focus on the present and how, at times, the future is compromised. Looking at how we may bring the future present in our organizational cultures, how we decide and act, our addiction to busyness and how this affects our business and our shared future. Audiences explore economic, social and environmental sustainability and how we may each personally lead as if the future matters.

Savage uses real-time interaction with the audience exploring what their future vision is, how their actions today must align to create that dream and what the participant will do now. Concluding with actioning this learning.

  • When participants step into a multi-speaker workshop there is an air of apprehension. They are drawn to the event because the subjects matter or a friend's suggestion sparked agreement to attend. Expectations are high; yet, outcomes are unknown. Joining the participants is the weaver who opens the workshop. Clarity is visible. Challenges of learn-action are recommended. Then, space is held as speakers gift their insights. This bridging from participant arrival to involvement through contribution to close requires a skilled facilitative guide. Such is the case for David Savage at the Freedom Fifty U event held in Calgary on June 11. 2016. His presence, poise, and process allowed the participants to engage at a level consistent with each's head, heart, and hands. I tip my hat to David for his mastery of collaborative facilitation. The smiles, handshakes, and hugs are evidence of a job well done!

  • Collaboration is the Way. Shared Value is the Destination was a great event that David spoke at in the University of Calgary's Haskayne School of Business. David made this important concept real for all participants and demonstrated how he collaborates in working alongside CSV Midstream CEO Daniel Clarke.
