10 Tips to Better Communicate

Approximately 85 percent of our success is not due to our education, our commitment, or our ambition, but rather to how well we communicate. This presentation covers the 10 most fundamental truths about communication that leaders and CPA professionals consistently struggle with and how to overcome them, such as:
- Interrupting others
- Forming an opinion before all the facts have been gathered
- Communicating your agenda to others before finding out the agenda of the person that you are talking to
- Trying to convince others to do something rather than have them discover it on their own
- Staying positive
- Rewarding others for doing something right rather than trying to catch them doing something wrong

Only 29 percent of the U.S. workforce is currently engaged in their jobs. This means that for every 10 people working for you: three are awesome, five are just punching a clock, and two toxic.
