Bio

Cynthia Mobley Howell is a Minister, Speaker, Amazon #1 Best Selling Author, and Certified Coach and the youngest of four siblings raised in a home where ALL her brothers were affected by a mental illness. Because of the stigma surrounding mental health conditions, proactive treatment did not occur for her brothers and sadly, they all ended up leading a very poor quality of life and were not capable of functioning well in society.

Cynthia Mobley Howell's book, "Crazy Didn't Get Me", will be published in 2021. In her book she allows you an up close and personal look into the drama and the trauma of living in a household with siblings affected by mental health conditions that were untreated for the most part.

In the Amazon #1 Best Seller book anthology, "I'm Still Standing", of which she is a co-author, Cynthia's chapter provides a snippet of some of her experiences growing up with siblings with a mental illness. Cynthia's chapter is titled, "Shhh...Don't Tell Nobody".

As a result of her painful and traumatic experience surround sibling mental illness, Cynthia Mobley Howell is committed to advocating for families affected by mental health conditions, especially surrounding African American males. Her mantra is, "I'M NOT KEEPING QUIET ANYMORE", as she refuses to stand by any longer and participate in NOT addressing the elephant in the room. It's time to END THE STIGMA surrounding mental illness!

She was chosen as a speaker for the Leadership Experience Tour April 2021, presented by the Fair Consulting Group headed by CEO and Founder, Shawn Fair. Shawn has developed a technique that helps potential leaders identify their blind spots. He is also one of the most sought-after and coveted consultants for major corporations in the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Through the Leadership Experience Tour program, Shawn offers an exclusive club for speakers and creates a platform for aspiring speakers to thrive and take charge. The program has appeared in multiple publications, including ABC, NBC, and Fox News.

Leadership Experience Tour

The Leadership Experience Tour is the #1 speaking platform in the U.S.
My presentation was on how a mental illness affected all my siblings, which caused great devastation in my family. The mental health conditions were not the issues but the fact that treatment was not promptly sought. Treatment was not promptly sought due to the stigma surrounding mental illness. By the time treatment was received, it was too late. This led to my brothers not leading ordinary, productive, and fulfilling lives.
I shared three simple but powerful tips with the audience on what to do if they find themselves in the same situation as my family.

  • I was honored and privileged to witness Cynthia Mobley Howell speak about Mental Illness from the platform of the Leadership Experience Tour held in Troy, Michigan. She speaks very fluently and she is very precise concerning her life experiences as a child. She grew up as the youngest, dealing with 3 older siblings suffering from mental illness and was spared from this illness. (Her book, 'Crazy Didn't Get Me'...releasing soon). Her presentation on mental health was informative and heartfelt. I was enlightened and inspired by the useful and helpful information she provided. Unfortunately, as she shared her childhood experiences about her 3 siblings affected by mental illness, it was deep and heartbreaking how they suffered emotionally and unnecessarily. With that being said, Cynthia strongly stressed awareness and educating yourself of the signs and symptoms of mental illness. She also encourages you to reach out for professional help.

She with passion and urgency to get the word out about not suffering in silence regarding the struggles of mental illness. After attending an event where Ms. Cynthia shared her compelling story of her entire family suffering from mental illness, she encouraged me to speak up and out about mental illness and helping others reach out for help.
