Cory Hutchison

I received a Computer Science degree from Georgia Tech in 2002, and spent a decade in the Atlanta IT scene as a web developer and consultant. Realizing that my passion and talent lay more in team building and leadership than in technical pursuits, I decided to pursue an MBA from Georgia Tech as well.

After receiving my graduate degree, I went to work for Ernst & Young as a Technical Lead where I managed an offshore team, and got to see what leadership and team building looked like at a large multinational corporation.

After 3.5 years at E&Y, I had the opportunity to cofound OneTrust starting in the CEO's basement. I was the first employee. I built and managed the engineering team from scratch, and left after the company after it had grown to over three hundred employees in three countries.

My current role is as the Director of Technology at InfoTycoon, where I once again had the opportunity to build the engineering team from scratch. My experiences motivated me to start putting my thoughts, lessons, and opinions on leadership into my blog (https://leadershipness.com) and to start speaking on the subject.

I have experienced good and bad leadership from huge global companies to small startups. I have worked with globally distributed teams, and built local agile teams. Most of all I have learned the lessons of leadership the hard way, and my interest has developed into a passion to share the best practices of good leadership and team building with as many people as I can.
