Chris is a fusion energy and aerospace entrepreneur with extensive experience in commercializing deep technology. Since 2008 he has worked on the commercialization of fusion energy and pulsed plasma technology. As a Co-founder of NearStar Fusion Inc. he is responsible for both business development of Magnetized Target Impact Fusion (MTIF) and MTIF spin-out technologies. MTIF will generate firm clean energy using an efficient plasma railgun to repeatedly implode magnetized fuel capsules. Prior to his work in fusion energy development. Mr. Faranetta served as Vice President of Orbital Spaceflight for Space Adventures LTD where he developed, sold, and managed private crewed missions to the International Space Station (ISS). He also conceived and developed a private crewed circumlunar mission which utilized flight proven technology: Space Adventures Lunar Mission
Earlier in his career and following the collapse of the Soviet Union, Chris became one of the first three foreign employees of Rocket Space Corporation Energia. While at Energia, he was part of the development and management of international commercial and government space projects. He also supported the newly formed Russian Space Agency in the formation of a partnership with NASA, the Phase I Shuttle/Mir & Phase II ISS Programs, commercial utilization of the Mir Space Station, commercial development, and utilization of the Proton & Zenit launch vehicles.
