Cedric Habiyaremye

Cedric is a Research Associate at Washington State University, Founder & CEO of QuinoaHub Ltd, and Co-Founder of FarmWella SPC. He also serves as a New Voices Fellow at the Aspen Institute and the Vice-Chair of Building Bridges with Rwanda. Previously, Cedric served as the youngest member of the Global Agriculture Task Force of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and has contributed as a co-author of the Global Food Security Report 2019. He also served as Executive Secretary of the Board of Directors of Building Bridges with Rwanda, Advisor on the Board of Directors of Better Life Rwanda and committee member of Washington State University College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences Students Experience Advisory Council. His areas of focus are research, development, and policy in international agricultural development.

In 2018, Cedric won the World Hunger Leadership Award for his major contributions in agricultural development and the fight against hunger. He was a 2018 Next Generation Delegate at the Chicago Council’s Global Food Security Symposium; a 2018 African Green Revolution Forum Borlaug LEAP Delegate, a 2017 World Food Prize Borlaug LEAP Delegate, a WSU Department of Crop and Soil Sciences Mug Awards recipient (2018 and 2017); and a 2015 WSU College of Agriculture Human and Natural Resources Sciences Interdisciplinary Research Team Award recipient. He served as a fellow for the US Borlaug Fellowship in Global Food Security, The Norman E. Borlaug Leadership Enhancement in Agriculture Program, and the Association for International Agriculture and Rural Development.

Cedric received his master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Agronomy and Crop Science from Washington State University, a BS in Agricultural Science with Honors in Irrigation and Drainage, and an Advanced Diploma in Soil and Water Management both from University of Rwanda College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine.
