Turning Tough Conversations in Engaging Dialogue

Do you dread having those tough conversations with colleagues or staff?
Do you find yourself frustrated that a conversation did go as well as you had intended?
Struggling to figure out how to alter your approach?
Are you avoiding certain interactions?

This interactive and reflective workshop is designed to help leaders and HR professionals develop the skills and CONFIDENCE needed to have some of those tough conversations focused on performance, accountability, retention, workplace behaviours, and upcoming business changes. Workshop host Carrie-Lynn Hotson will help participants identify their own strengths and challenges in managing others. Participants will learn the importance of "Knowing Who You Lead" and will be given tools and strategies they can incorporate into their current leadership practices.

Revamping Your Hiring Process

Time to dust off your job posts and do a deep dive into who you are trying to hire, and the processes you are utilizing.
As an experienced HR Manager, Job Interview Coach, and HR College Professor, I will give participants critical insight into why they are potentially missing out on key candidates, hiring the wrong people, and/or not creating an inclusive and effective onboarding process.

Humanizing Change Management

Change Management happens at an individual level. For a group or organization to change, all of the individuals within the group must have the desire, ability, knowledge, and resources to make the change come to life. I utilize my understanding of human psychology, leadership experience, and change management philosophies to help leaders identify and address current challenges and RESISTANCE they are facing from employees, clients, and other stakeholders.

Train the Trainer

Training your employees CORRECTLY is at the foundation of your success. Well trained employees are more efficient, make fewer errors, are more client-focused, better team players, and generate a better ROI.
A critical error organizations make is NOT investing in the people they need to train newer staff members. Often we just "pick someone" and say "can you train the new person?"
This workshop introduces TRAINERS to critical learning concepts, training methodologies, performance measurement tools, and strategies to support trainees who are struggling.

Supervisor 101

Too often we promote people into roles of management/leadership because "they are good at their job". This does NOT mean they have the needed skills and strategies to effectively manage and lead others.
This one-day workshop is designed to introduce new supervisors to the fundamentals of leadership, understand their own styles better, effectively get to know their people and understand the roles/responsibilities of leadership.
This dynamic and interactive workshop encourages new leaders to understand WHO they are, and HOW they want to lead. It provides them with tools and strategies they can utilize and encourages further leadership growth opportunities.

Are Your CSR Actions Matching Your Values? Why Employees Care

Corporate Social Responsibility efforts are critical to your success. Do you donate to specific causes? Have staff volunteer for specific events? Support specific stakeholders?
How deep of a dive do you do in choosing who to support? How well does it align with your Values and Mission as a Company? Are you advertising WHY you do it or just what you do?
As a Business and HR Professor, I provide businesses with a critical view of their CSR efforts, what employees are looking for, and how to get a better ROI from their efforts. We also discuss the RISKS of doing it wrong or investing in a poorly managed company or charity group.
