Antwaun Thompson or"Coach T", as he is referred to by his student athletes and their parents, has been "Coaching and Mentoring the Leaders of Tomorrow" for 31 years. That is the mission statement of JLT Fieldhouse, Inc., the nonprofit organization he founded and hold the position of Executive Director. His mission with this organization is to teach the elements of good character, goal setting, self-esteem, responsibility, teamwork and leadership.
Along with 31 years of coaching basketball on several levels, including elementary, middle school, high school, AAU and college, he also has over 20 years of business experience, managing in the private club sector. That career had him starting as a broiler cook at a city club to becoming the general manager of a private country club. Leadership skills, positive attitude, perseverance and a dedicated work ethic were instrumental in acquiring, achieving and maintaining that level of success.
Coach T's devotion to help young people grow as athletes and individuals has been a driving force behind starting JLT Fieldhouse, Inc. Today's young people are losing out because they are not receiving the ongoing support, leadership, direction and caring that many of us were provided growing up. Coach T inspires with his message, that is compassionate, thought provoking, entertaining and most importantly, genuine!
