Anthony Burgess

Anthony Burgess is a retired lieutenant from the Pasadena Police Department in Southern California. As a lieutenant he served as a Watch Commander, and a Service Area Commander. Prior to promoting, Anthony supervised the department's Counter Terrorism Unit, where he worked extensively with his own department as well as the Rose Bowl, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, and managed the region's mutual aid contingent of 9 surrounding agencies (Area C). He was his agency's liaison with the Joint Regional Intelligence Center and currently serves as a liaison with the Tennessee Fusion Center.

Anthony holds a master's degree in Organizational Leadership, and is a graduate of California's POST Management School, the Sherman Block Supervisor Leadership Institute, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Deputy Leadership Institute. He hold Intermediate status with California's Instructor Development Institute and prior to moving to Tennessee after retirement, was an instructor with the Deputy Leadership Institute where he served the north county region.

Anthony is now an inspiring author- currently writing a book on leadership, is a Director of Security at a large concert venue, and in his spare time coaches basketball at a local high school. Anthony has plans to develop a company where police officers and sheriff deputies can learn to become better leaders and avoid the pitfalls of the job.

Anthony is passionate about people, and strives to motivate leaders with his speeches to become better in many facets of their lives- family life included. Initiative, resourcefulness, and teamwork are often stressed to achieve meaningful results.

Anthony's presentations are unique in that his audiences are captivated by his passion that infuses a savvy blend of 30 years in law enforcement, being a basketball coach, a teacher, an arrest and control instructor, and a student of leadership and history.

Anthony is married, has three daughters (and a son-in-law), and is eager to help teams and organizations unlock their true potential by focusing on proven leadership techniques that can be applied immediately.
