Bio

Ali is an entrepreneur at heart. He started programming at the age of 14 and throughout school and university life he dabbled in various ventures, testing different business ideas. At university, he studied Biotechnology and has a postgraduate degree in Genetic

Engineering.

Over the past 30 years, Ali has continued the same entrepreneurship path and spirit, following his true passion in the world of IT, he has setup, closed, and sold numerous businesses.

After selling his last IT Company in 2018, Ali has dedicated a major part of his time to helping other entrepreneurs achieve their dreams. He is currently a Board Advisor at several Startups and a mentor in various incubators and accelerators, he has helped hundreds of

entrepreneurs with their startup idea, business strategy, and pitching that have led to the successful closing of numerous fundraising rounds.

Ali has won numerous awards for Public Speaking and is a regular keynote speaker at entrepreneurial events, schools, and universities, as well as various local clubs such as Rotary International.

Ali has written 5 books in Persian and currently working on his 6th book “Passion & Vision: Ingredients for a successful startup”.

As one of the co-organizers of TEDx Marbella, I worked along side my group to setup a the legal entity to deal with the accounts, find speakers through my network. Help with the auditioning and finally the training of the speakers. Additionally I worked in the event promotion and many of the background admin work plus event organization.

Description: Scouting, selection and presentation of three startups in Costa del Sol for the Swedich VC firm, Asenjor.
This was a half day event fully organized by me for the Swedish VC firm Asenjor. In this event, I first provided the VC firm with an overview of the Startup scene on the Costa del Sol and then presented three promising startups in the area. The presentation was followed by a lunch and afternoon networking.

Description: Most entpreneur and startup pitches are around the product. In fact as a serial entpreneur I admit, I am in love with my product. However if you are pitching to investors and looking for fund raising, you need to start speaking "The Investors' Language".

In this presentation, I address the most important points that an entrepreneur needs to provide to investors before talking about the big picture. Only once you have done that should you speak about the potential which is TAM, SAM, SOM. Far too often the pitch misses the basic information and jumps directly into the BIG PICTURE with the BIG INVESTMENT SUM they are looking for. RESULT: If the investor can't workout what they can earn from this investment, you can't get them interested in your project.

Description: Motivational speech for final year student graduation at the English International College. In this speech I covered three important things: 1) The importance of falling in love with what you do in life, 2) The importance of finding your purpose and following you passion and 3) Why you should never follow money. Money is a by-product of following your passion and running after money is not following your passion.

I wrapped up the speech by reminding parents that this is their children's dream, life and that they are only responsible to help them on this journey and for the students a reminder that their journey starts today, they are the author of this book this journey and that they decide how exciting, thrilling and adventerous they want it to be.

Digging deep, finding your passion and speaking from the heart

Description: It is every toastmasters dream to become a first class speaker, win the international championship and motivate people with whatever they are passionate about. However as toastmasters often we find ourselves looking for that ultimate speech to achieve the latter and we try and we rattle.

In this workshop, I start with numerous examples of speakers who are not necessarily excellent public speaker, but who have in the course of following their passion become sought after public speakers. The key ingredient that is in common to all or most of these speakers is that they have fought for their passion. Often we find ourselves bugged down with daily routines and locked into situations where our passions are side-lined and neglected. Tackling this issue is something that we all battle and to find one’s true passion and follow it, is one path to finding the way to that unique speech.
