Aimée Leslie is a conservationist with over 15 years of experience working to protect nature and the people who depend on it. She holds a PhD in Sustainability Transitions from Lancaster University (UK), where she focused on traceability in Peru’s artisanal fisheries. She also holds master’s degrees in Environmental Management from Costa Rica and in Education for Sustainable Development from Spain. Aimée currently leads the conservation work at WWF-Peru, and previously directed WWF’s global program on whales and marine turtles from Switzerland. Her career began in 2005 and has taken her across Latin America, working with organizations like The Leatherback Trust in Costa Rica, IFAW in Mexico, and Greenpeace in Argentina. She has served on scientific and advisory bodies of the IWC, IUCN, and CMS. She believes that true conservation starts by healing our relationship with nature — and with ourselves.
