Bio

Adam Gust is the only Polyvagal-Informed professional drummer in the world practicing the clinical application of cutting-edge, nervous system science to drum performance. Adam focuses on scientifically identifying how we create harmony between our intentions and actions. Drummers call this a “groove”. Adam has hosted performance workshops at the Musicians Institute and the University of Southern California. His unique perspective is evident in the video content he creates.

As a trained career drummer based in Los Angeles, Adam's artistry has led him around the world as well as into the most famous recording studios in LA. Resilience to challenging circumstances has amplified Adam’s beat to include tracking stress responses through the lens of drumming and the nervous system. Day by day, Adam practices educating himself and others about implementing resilience strategies for rhythmic practitioners, those of us with a heartbeat.

Science of the Groove

As the only Polyvagal-Informed professional drummer in the world, I speak about how nervous system research scientifically identifies how we find our “groove.” Synchronizing our brain and body leads to flow between intention and action by unrooting what gets us stuck in between. This is applicable to all rhythmic practitioners, those of us with a heartbeat.
